This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Evenweight app and this website. To contact us about privacy, email support@evenweight.app.
The short version
- Your weight, food log, hunger ratings, workouts and medication details stay on your phone.
- We don't store your meal photos.
- There's no account, no sign-in and no ads.
- We never sell your data or use it to track you across other apps.
Information that stays on your phone
Everything you enter in Evenweight (your weigh-ins, safe zone, food log, protein and fiber, hunger and craving ratings, workouts, the medication you tell us you were taking, your plan progress and badges) is stored only on your device. We don't receive it. The report for your doctor or dietitian is created on your phone, and goes only where you choose to send it. Reminders are scheduled on your phone too. You can delete everything at any time in the app under Settings, then "Delete all my data". Removing the app also removes it.
Meal photos
If you use the meal photo scan, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it to our AI provider, Anthropic, to estimate the protein and fiber on the plate. We do not save your photos on our server. Anthropic processes the image only to return the estimate, does not use it to train its models, and may keep it briefly for safety monitoring under its commercial terms before deleting it. Only take photos of food.
Information we do keep
- A random app ID. The app creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email or phone number. Our server uses it, together with your IP address, to apply the photo scan limits and prevent abuse. We keep these counts, not your photos or results. Daily counts expire automatically; the count of trial photo scans stays with the random ID.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store and our payment partner RevenueCat, which receives the random app ID and your purchase history so subscriptions can be checked and restored. We never see your card details.
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to count app events linked to the random app ID, so we can see which features help people and improve the app. An event only says what you did, such as "finished onboarding", "logged hunger", "started a workout" or "opened the plans screen". Events never include your medication, your weight, your ratings, your food log, your photos, your name or your contact details, and we never use analytics for advertising.
- The launch list. If you join the list on this website, we keep your email address only to send you one email when Evenweight launches, then delete it. It is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare.
- Support emails. If you email us, we use your message and address only to help you.
Who processes data for us
Anthropic (meal photo analysis), Cloudflare (servers and this website), RevenueCat (purchases), Google and Apple (app stores), and PostHog (analytics). Some of them are based in the United States; where data leaves the EU it is protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Legal basis
We process meal photos and the counts needed to run the scan limits to provide the service you ask for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We use usage analytics on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working well and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f)). We use your email for the launch list only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy. To do so, email support@evenweight.app. Because the app has no accounts, we usually can't link app data to a person; what you enter in the app can always be deleted in the app itself. You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr) or your local authority.
US state privacy laws
We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, and we don't collect consumer health data on our servers. Residents of California, Washington and other states with privacy laws can use the rights above by emailing us.
Children
Evenweight is for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
